Tyre properties, tyre tests and labelling:
Tyres test results:
Every year dozens of tyre tests in all segments (winter, summer, SUV, all-weather, ...) are driven and published by magazines, automobile clubs in Europe and other independent test organisations.
The results of the tests carried out by these organisations can be read on this page under "Test reports" for the displayed tyre.
Tyre label:
The European Tyre Labelling Regulation lays down information requirements on fuel efficiency, wet grip and external rolling noise of tyres. The aim is to improve road safety, environmental protection and economic efficiency by promoting fuel-efficient, safe and quiet tyres.
Classes A and B are classified as "very good". (Classes A+ or A++ do not exist)..
The results can vary greatly from one tyre size to another and from one tyre type to another (summer, winter, 4x4). However, the ratings are comparable between different tyre models and brands of the same size and type.
The tyre label doesn't say everything, because it doesn't contain winter performance of winter or all-weather tyres.
